EMG4202 Transportation Planning

This course covers transport systems and its relationship to land use in urban and rural areas.  Traffic flow theory and the implications of development and various land use activities on transport facilities are emphasised.  Data collection, evaluation and project appraisal techniques for transport planning and its effects are discussed.

Course Objectives           : 

  1. To correlate the traffic data collection procedures, valuation techniques and their applications in transportation planning

  2. To analyzes the theory and the transport system and its relation with urban and rural planning

  3. To manage information related to sustainable urban transport system
