EMG3203 Introduction to Environmental Planning

This course covers the basic principles and theories of planning as well as various recent planning methods and techniques.  Physical planning aspects such as structure plans, local plans, strategic plans and planning standards are introduced. The relationships between planning, management, environmental conservation, rehabilitation and Geographic Information Systems is also emphasised.

Course Objectives           : 

  1. To identify appropriate methods of planning for a particular type of development

  2. To discuss the theory and principles of planning through teamwork

  3. To analyze problems in the planning process and planning rules and regulation in Malaysia
