Background

The Department of Environmental Management was established conjointly with The Faculty of Environmental Studies in September 2004. The department offers the Bachelor of Environmental Management programme, together with degrees for Master and PhD.

The Department of Environmental Management aims to produce skilled and trained graduates that can apply and intrepet the scientific principles, guiding regulations, and recommended practices in environmental management; demonstrate knowledge of effective techniques for communicating scientific, technical, and legal information to diverse populations; and develop comprehensive environmental management strategies.

Academic staff and faculty members in the Department of Environmental Management have excellent academic and research backgrounds in their respective fields. Fields of expertise include environmental planning and management, environmental economics, environmental policy and governance, coastal and marine management, environmental ethics and education, transportation planning and waste management.
